Windows 7 Family Pack available for online pre-order

A windows 7 upgrade package for home usage is now available for online pre-order which is pretty ahead of time of its launching and will be available at a discounted price.

Windows 7 Family Pack offers the ability to upgrade from an existing version of windows 7 to windows 7 on three PCs at max for a cut-rate price. It is obtainable for preorders on several online retailer websites respectively at US$146.99 and $140.31.

Microsoft said earlier that the offer will continue until supplies last. It will be available for pre-order on Oct. 18 and will be finally in stores on Oct. 22. The Family pack enables users to set up Home Premium for a reduced price on up to three PCs with any version of Windows already running.

Microsoft officials are following up with online retailers who are currently accepting pre-orders since Oct. 18 remains the official date for pre-orders of Family Pack. Microsoft said Family Pack will only be available in North America. At the beginning of this week, MS has included eight European countries. They are UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden.

Earlier Microsoft had said that they will provide a Windows 7 E version. But the company recently changed its decision saying that Windows 7 will feature a ballot screen to enable the customers to choose their desired browser.
