Data backup is necessary to protect your data from getting lost. Today both business organizations and home PC users such as students store their necessary data and information in their PC. If accidentally the computer gets out of order and you do not take the backup of your data you may lose all your valuable data. Loosing important data may ruin the career or business of a person.
You may backup data either locally or remotely using tapes, CDs or DVDs, local or external hard drives, or using file server. But there are lots of disadvantages in remote and local data backup process.
Remote Backup – Transfer speed can be a problem while taking remote backup of your data. If you have high-speed LAN connection then the data can be transmitted fast otherwise the firewall or the upload issues may hamper the backup process.
Local Backup – Local data backup is probably the simplest and quickest way of backing up data. But it has some disadvantages. If any natural calamities like fire or flood occurs, your computer and the storage devices get ruined you may lose your data forever. On the other hand if you misplace the storage device such as CD or DVD where you have store all your data you will not be able to recover it.
